Virginia May, Badminton Eventer, Passes Away at 91

Virginia May, a prominent eventer known for her participation in the Badminton Horse Trials, passed away on July 6 at the age of 91. She completed the prestigious event twice in the 1950s, riding her beloved mare, Jungle Queen.

Born into a sporting family in Surrey, Virginia's passion for horses began in childhood. She made significant contributions to the equestrian community, including training young riders through the Hampshire Hunt branch of the Pony Club. Her legacy continues through her daughters, several of whom have also competed at top levels in equestrian sports.
